Lars & Martha (Houghton, MI Wedding)

Lars & Martha - November 23, 2019

A Classic Winter Wedding in Houghton Michigan

It’s officially winter (not according to the calendar but the ground!) in Northern Michigan! I’ve heard that this is the earliest winter has arrived around here but goodness it made for beautiful photos on Saturday! November is such a toss-up, it could be brown and dreary or beautiful and snow-covered. We got the latter and it was perfect!

Martha and I put a lot of thought and planning into portrait locations due to the unpredictable weather. We wanted somewhere that would still look pretty without snow. She found a great location on the water and just wait until you see the photos! The sun is shining, the ground is white and the water in the background is gorgeous!

I remember Lars saying at their engagement session that her laugh is his favorite part about her and I have to agree. Martha is so smiley, her joyful spirit and his love for her was so fun to photograph!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!! Thank you so much for a fun day and braving the cold for photos. It was so worth it!

Enjoy a recap of their day!

I’ve said it a hundred times but I’ll say it again. I absolutely LOVE first looks, the freedom for emotions when it is just the bride and groom without an audience is so special. I loved both of their reactions and could feel the excitement and anticipation for the day and life ahead!

I loved the color combination! The blue suits looked sharp against the water!

At most weddings, the guys are the ones suffering in their long sleeves in the beating sun but they get lucky in the winter while the girls freeze their bare arms! They were all such troopers and we got the photos done as quickly as possible for their sake!

Time to get married!

So many cute faces! I had a hard time just choosing a few to share!

Thanks for stopping by! Stay cozy and warm tonight, looks like we’ll be waking up to a few feet of fresh snow tomorrow!

xoxo - Natalie Carolyn
