Adam & Rachel (Copper Harbor, MI Wedding)

Adam & Rachel - October 10, 2018

Adam and Rachel choose to have a “destination” wedding in Copper Harbor Michigan! If you have ever been to the Keweenaw Peninsula you know that it is simply STUNNING in the fall. When Rachel first reached out to me, she talked about their plans to get married mid-week on the shores of Lake Superior surrounded by just their closest family and friends. I loved their vision for their wedding. Simple, intimate and in a place they loved!

Neither of their families are local so they were excited to show them around the area. The buckets of rain that we got ALL week long probably didn’t make this the easiest task! The day of the wedding the skies still weren’t clearing up so they made a last minute decision to move the ceremony indoors. Copper Harbor has a charming, little rustic church called “Our Lady of The Pines” that happened to be RIGHT next to their cabin. Thank goodness it was available as Mother Superior was FRIGID and angry that day.

I loved the unique details of their wedding day. Rachel chose a beautiful light gray dress which paired beautifully with her dried bouquet of lavender! I think these might some of my new favorite ring shots, lavender has always been special to me because it reminds me of my mom AND of course because it’s purple!

Although the weather didn’t hold out for us like we hoped, the bride and groom got plenty of time with their loved ones. Beautiful landscapes, warm weather and calm waters are nice but nothing is more important than people. In the end spending time with the people in our life is what it’s all about. I don’t know about you, but a week with my family, cozy in a cabin, sharing life over hot coffee while the rain falls outside sounds pretty dreamy to me!

Adam & Rachel shared their day with 6 very important people. I loved the simplicity of it and knew how important these people were to them. I requested a photo of everyone at the ceremony site and am so glad I did, it holds the feeling of the day. Wet and cold but oh so happy! :)

That’s all for today folks! Have a fabulous Thursday! 😊
