A Michigan City Indiana Wedding at The BarrelHouse at Zorn.

I may have cried more at this weekend’s wedding than any other.  Aarron and Tina have the sweetest most thoughtful relationship and it was so fun to capture another part of their love story.  Last fall in the freezing rain, Aarron proposed to Tina with a giant cupcake that said “will you marry me.”  The cupcake was a look back at the start of their relationship when she showed up to their first date with one! He had just moved to the Chicago area and she brought a cupcake with the Chicago skyline to welcome him to his new city! This set the tone for their relationship and seeing it culminate into Saturday’s beautiful and emotional day was such an honor!

Aarron is a huge football fan and talked about how he knew Tina was special when she survived a football game with him.  He took her to a football game that was freezing temperatures and he accidentally hit her in the face while celebrating the team’s win! Haha!

During the reception he presented her with a “VanBuren” team jersey as his “first and only draft pick for life”  it was so fun and such a cool part of their story and a big part of their life!

The mother/son dance was to “A mother’s prayer.”   If you have never heard the song, you need to go listen to it, I promise you will be in tears.  It has the sweetest story about a mother praying for her son’s future wife and then at the end it talks about her giving her son away.  She sung along the whole time and then at that part of the song, his mother handed the dance over to Tina and we were all a weepy mess!

We had plans for golden hour portraits but the weather had other plans. We ended the night with a few romantic photos in the rain instead and i’m not mad about it.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. VanBuren!
